Copper Patination Project

Copper Patination Project Complete!
Well folks, I can’t tell you how excited I am to unveil the completed copper patination project I have been working on for a while.

I have experimented with many different types of chemicals and textures and picked the ones that worked the best for what I was trying to create and this is the result.

This art project involves mixing the elements copper, steel and wood. Something I have wanted to do for a very long time.

The Big Leaf Curly Blonde Maple frames are each 12″ x 24″ with a steel inset and copper rivets.

The finish is what is called a “Living Finish” where I clean off the chemicals and call it good. This option lets the copper continue to slowly change and evolve over time. The other option is a lacquer or wax. Those will preserve the colors and keep them from changing over time but they will dull the original vivid, bright colors.

I can custom make them to sizes and can also semi-control what colors go into them. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Interior Cable Railing

The clients for this interior cable railing project went with the bold look of black with stainless steel hardware. It features “floating posts” which help conceal hardware at the base of each post. It really did turn out beautiful and the clients were just as happy!

Celtic Knot Custom Metal Table

 

This table is completely made out of metal including the knot holding the feet together. This was one of the first projects done with Integrity Ironworks in Talent, OR. There are going to be some untold mysteries as to how this exactly went together. It was an exciting opportunity to help make such an awesome piece of work!

Custom Handicap Railing

This is 1.5″ square tube handicap hand rail with a medium gloss black powder coated finish. The hardest part about this project was dealing with some of the longer sections of railing measuring up to 25′.
